A fractured blaze of light cuts across a burn site in late spring — snow still clings to the forest floor while new warmth forces its way in. Thick, angular strokes of yellow and magenta collide with charred verticals, capturing the violence and renewal that exist parallel in northern landscapes. Spectacle balances on the boundary between abstraction and observation, using colour and gesture to express the shock of sunlight returning to a ruined place.
