Reflection Hot Spring (2014)

Oil on canvas
20 x 24 in

A narrow stream of warm, golden water winds through a rugged winter landscape, surrounded by thick banks of snow and exposed rock. Broad, sculptural strokes of oil paint give the scene a striking physical presence, while flashes of ochre, amber, and deep brown bring warmth to the otherwise muted terrain.

The composition moves between abstraction and observation, capturing the shifting textures of snow, stone, and water through Halin's expressive use of colour and impasto.
