Public Premiere of New Works by Halin de Repentigny September 14th

Whitehorse, Yukon – The Artist Project (TAP) announces for the first time since 2016, new work by renowned Yukon artist Halin de Repentigny will make its public debut in Whitehorse Friday, September 14th 2018.

"Homestay represents a two-year journey of creativity for Halin and the results are incredible" says Susan Stanley, President of TAP. "Halin continues to amaze us with his talent although having two years of paintings to choose from made assembling the show a challenging but enjoyable exercise since we simply don’t have room to display everything."

“I normally travel to South America each winter but for the first time in over a decade I stayed in the Yukon last year and focussed on painting," says Halin. "The experience made me realize how much I missed painting snow especially as the days get longer in the spring and the light plays with the landscape”. "Of course, I missed the heat and sun as well so I did some larger versions of Argentinian scenes I had sketched earlier just to make me feel like I was there when it was -40 and dark at home."

Homestay will run for three days only. Susan Stanley says, "We encourage Yukoners to come and see these stunning works in person and to meet Halin." The entire Homestay collection will be available online (http://halinderepentigny.ca/) by the end of September and select pieces will be on display at partner galleries in Yukon and B.C. over the coming months.

Homestay will be presented at The Old Fire Hall 1105 Front Street Whitehorse Yukon.
